Fat-Legs and Doves-Foot!!

Not the cast of an improbable movie, but a photograph of a fat legged beetle (Flower Beetle/Oedemera nobilis) on a Doves-Foot Cranesbill flower (Geranium molle)!

An unlikely cast!

Wildflower Diaries – iPhoneography

I went out with my miniature macro attachment to the iPhone last week and captured photographs of a few wildflowers. Apart from the overall mediocre image quality (thank you Apple!) and extremely shallow depth-of-field, the macro adapter does a reasonably good job.

Memories of an English Summer – Roses

Nothing probably epitomizes an english summer more than roses. Roses in all shades, hues and fragrances dot the myriad gardens around Britain. Here are a couple from my garden from 2012.

Gazania – on black

Gazania‘s are native to south africa and are commonly grown in the UK as an annual. The lovely flowers light up any border with their profuse blooms and long flowering season. These gazania’s are from my garden in Cambridge.
